My Kids are the cutest kids I've ever seen. Seriously. Here's a little update on the fun we've been having... Kohlter has germbugs today. That's Hathcock house lingo for being sick. He had a playdate scheduled for 9am with his buddy Jonah, and at 8:55, he started throwing up. It was so cute because he was crying and begging me to make him better so he could still go to play...it was sweet, and hard to explain that he wasn't going anywhere for a while. I wrapped him in a comfy down blanket and after a bit, he finally gave into the sickies and fell asleep on the couch




Eva is a little princess...in every sense of the word. She LOVES to have her picture taken. She loves any chance to be pretty or to be told she is pretty. One day I caught her in an especially angelic mood, which doesn't happen often...see for yourself.



And if you think those curls are crazy, you should see them after a bath...out of control!




And in case you think those 2 have a monopoly on the cuteness, check out this little beefcake! This is Giselle, exactly 11 months old...seriously, how can you look at those chubs and feel like all is not right in the world!?!

We Went To The Moutains

We went to the Pinetop mountains mid October...just wanted to get away from the hot and have a little quiet time. We stayed in the Salmon's cabin with Grandma and Grandpa H and Nathan and Bethanne's family...lots of pigs in a blanket! But it was fun, we found a cute little lake with a ton of very entitled ducks who would come up and take the bread out of the kids hands if they weren't ripping fast enough. They really loved it!


When it was time to go home, Kohlter asked us if he could go to the "new California" again. I guess the only place we've ever taken him that he remembers is California, and so this was a new and different California than he had ever seen. It's pretty cute to see how their little minds start to work!

So much, so so much!

Did I really still have a dog when I last posted? Wow, it's been too long! Yeah, so the dog thing...there was a day, can't remember what day it was, but probably about a month and a half ago, when the dog drama put me over the edge! I had Giselle permanently glued to my hip, because everytime I put her down, the dog would chew her toes, and Eva and the dog had their own special dynamic that I previously discussed...anyway, so to say the least, we were over the edge! I listed the poor adorable thing on craigslist, and he was snatched up in 20 minutes! I know you dog lovers are judging me...I can't help that, but I honestly had no idea that a puppy was so hard! I had dogs before, it was a little extra work, but not like a puppy! DANG! Anyway, that's the story of Jones, who is now renamed and living in Florence with a family of 4 kids and 3 dogs in some wide open spaces.

Ok, so much, so so much more! Where to start?? Let's start with Gizzy...Giselle is almost 11 months now, and cute as a stinking bug! She loves to explore, and she is NEVER still. She wiggles her way into everything. She climbs the stairs a zillion times a day, making mom crazy, and yes, I bought a baby gate, but 20 minutes after I installed it, Eva climbed on it and broke it. So, now I have to go to Lowe's to get some things to fix it, and of course, that won't happen for a month, so basically, we're back at being nuts about Giselle always on the stairs. She LOVES to eat, and has the most distinctive taste, which is fun. IF she doesn't like something you put in her mouth, she spits it all over you! That's cute...when it's Daddy doing the feeding. She's standing a little bit, and even taking a couple careful steps, but then she lowers herself to her knees and zooms off on all fours. I'll post pics...I got a new camera, and I take tons of pictures now, except that Giselle heads for me everytime she sees me, so most of her pics are motion shots.

First and most importantly...we are daytime potty trained! YAYAYAY!!! Eva is also in preschool at Imagine Preschool, run my Ms. Tonya Pierce. She LOVES it! She is the most curious little girl, and needs to be constantly fed more exploration, so preschool has been a very good thing for us. She goes Monday and Wednesday from 9-11:30 and if any of you are looking for a great preschool, this one is highly recommended! She loves to sing and dance, and Loves the color pink and anything girlie, which she certainly didn't get from me! It' fun to see that they have their own little programming when they arrive...definitely an argument for nature vs. nurture!

Kohlter is starting his 12th week of Kindergarten. He loves learning to read and sounds out new words endlessly. His new favorite game is Hangman. We do some pretty big words too! It's so cute to see how the outside influences come in and start adding to his makeup. Sometimes, it's not so cute when the expressions that he learns are less than appropriate. A couple days ago, he asked me for something and I said I would get it in a minute when I was finished with helping Eva. He responded "Oh DAMN!" I was stunned! "What did you say?" and he repeated the exclamation. I asked him what that word meant and he said "it's a big line that won't let the water go past."...talking, of course, about a dam....but he obviously heard that expression and put the two together. So, how do you explain to a kindergartner that, though the two words sound the same, the one with a silent n at the end isn't appropriate to say. Yeah, that was a tough one. I finally just told him that we don't say that word, and he said "ok, so Mommy, there are 5 bad words?" and I said "No, there are some other ones too" and he said "tell me all the bad words so I don't say them on accident."...HA! What a list that would make! But it's cute...I love all of the parts of seeing them grow up, even when they can't discern between Damn and Dam....

Like I said, so much more, but I have to run now, so I'll have to get to it all later.

I'd title this one"whew"

I would title this blog "whew" except I can imagine that I would have a zillion blogs with that same title. I just finished an 8 hour stretch of the most intense motherhood that I experience: 6 am-nap time. I get the little gremlins in bed, and all I can think is "whew!" I can't help but think that I am inflicting so much of my frustration onto myself by adding ball after ball into my juggling ring. And you would think I would learn...you really would...and yet, I don't.

So, let's see, what's new.. I have reached a new level of frustration with being a dog owner. We have gotten much better with the night crying, the peeing and pooping everywhere, the chewing, all of that is progressing. Unfortunately, my little sweetheart Eva likes to beat the dog, and in return, he likes to bite her...which sends her hurling intl my arms with a bloodcurdling scream...and the sick part is i think she does it all on purpose. I don't know which one to get rid of...her or the dog. Yeah...so I'm re-thinking my dog ownership and looking for a nice home for him. Any takers?

I just realized that the only person in the whole world who evn knows I have a blog is my sister Lori. I should figure out how to add more blog links to my blog so it can have some friends. Unfortunately, for right now I have run out of time. Gotta run.

P.S. Lori- I wrote up your price request for the 3rd time on Friday night...I'm going to try to get it faxed out today, but probably tomorrow. Don't hate me that I am taking forever...it's their fault too! I've done this stupid thing 3 times now! I hate Paul Robert!!!

Finally!

I realize that I am quite possibly the last person on the planet to have my own blog...and I have to thank my sweet sister Lori for reminding, cajoling, prodding and guilting me into starting one. She even sent me the link. Gotta love her! So, I've seen blogs before, but I have no idea how this one is going to look, so we'll see. I've got to tell ya straight up that my blog, although I have the greatest of intentions, will probably never be dressed in polka dots and cute little scrolly artwork. In fact, I'd bet good money that unless Lori somehow hacks into my computer, my blog will remain "black minima" as they called it...forever. That's not to say that I am bereft of creativity. It's just that I have a hard time focusing it into one thing...see, I have ROCD. It's like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, except mt obsessiveness and compulsivity is so RANDOM, that I have termed it Random Obsessive COmpulsive Disorder. Basically, I eplode into 74 different random facets each day. Truly, I am certifiable.

So...for all of you who don't know me, (why are you reading my blog?) I'm Maria. I do lots of things, but right now I am kept busy by my children (3 of them) my dog (a cute puppy who loves to peepee on the carpet) my business (Flourish Designs- amazingly amazing interiors) my husband (the love of my life!) and all my hobbies...to many to name.

Recently, I have been writing new songs like crazy. I go through these phases, and sometimes I'm dry with nothing to say, and then there are times like now, where I guess I am processing like a pentium 14, because the music literally never turns off. And sometimes, that's not so fortunate, for instance at 2:42 a.m. when I have a killer bridge playing on repeat in my head as I tell myself that I have to get up in 3 hours. But there are some pretty nifty songs that are coming out, You'll have to wait for the album...which will hopefully get started someday. Some of the titles that are coming out are "Make You Breathe", "Don't Kid Yourself", "I Give In" "Better Off" ...and more. What do you think? Do the titles make you wanna hear the song?

Well, I tried putting a picture on...not so much luck on my first try. I'll get it figured out and get some on here. I got some pretty cute pics taken the other day by my kids photographer...I'll post em soon.
